An introduction to the course and what to expect
We take a quick look into one of our Teespring accounts and at a few pages of Paypal payouts.
This particular account made over $70,000 in sales in a 3 month period, and was briefly retired so that I could record videos and setup up demonstration campaigns and storefronts for this course.
It's a great example of the kind of money you can make on Teespring. If the Paypal payouts section of the video does not get you motivated to study hard and give 100% effort to becoming successful on Teespring, then nothing will!
No trumpet blowing, just some proof of success before you give your complete focus and dedication to the course.
Teespring was founded back in 2011 and officially launched in October 2012.
Come March 2013, Teespring announced $750,000 in monthly revenue and in December was accepted into the elite start-up accelerator Y-Combinator.
Within 10 weeks they had raised another $1.3 million. In January 2014 they closed out another venture capital deal of $20 million.
Today their revenues are unknown, but needless to say they are kicking some serious butt and have been featured on Venturebeat, Forbes, USAToday and Techcrunch to name a small few!
Teespring are here to stay and are a solid platform for entrepreneurs alike to launch and promote their own brands.
An introduction into the niche identification section.
Google Trends is an absolute goldmine to get you started with ideas, specifically ones that are more likely going to resonate with the niche you find them in.
A subject with high search volumes that is going to be open to promoting apparel to, is far more likely to be successful than just picking a random niche. While choosing niches and then drilling into the market can be lucrative, identifying the people who are doing these searches, and then targeting them with apparel related to the subject, gives you an edge.
We use Google Trends on a daily basis, are subscribed to numerous keyword alerts and have created many great campaigns out of the data Google offers us. Do not ignore or dismiss this tool.
We look quickly at BuzzFeed, another excellent spot to pick up of trending subjects, often before or just as they become viral on social media.
Another daily tool you need to be using to identify current hot topics, many of which can be researched in regards to the relevant audience demographics and is a solid base for slogan ideas.
A lot of things that go viral online originate at Reddit.
Luckily for us, the most popular content gets pushed up to the front page of Reddit in categories by users who upvote them there.
The chances are that if you saw a meme on your Facebook timeline with a truckload of shares and likes it originated on Reddit before spreading across the social media networks like a rash.
If you want to be one of the first to get in on the latest thing to go viral before it actually does, get your fingers clicking over to Reddit now and join for free.
This gives you a superior advantage and time to prepare your campaign and targeting for your advertising.
Moving on and getting a little deeper, What The Trend will show you what and why things are trending on Twitter.
They basically provide us with a leader board for Twitter trends and aptly name it as The front page of the real-time web.
The awesome thing about this tool is that real people online are the ones who contribute to the trending topics and provide explanations as to why they're trending so you don't have to rely solely on algorithms and computers doing the legwork.

Using both Teeview and Teespring, is a great way to find the campaigns that are doing well and allows us to see how competitive any given niche is.
It is important to note that a lot of campaigns are hidden from these searches but in the next few videos, we will look at how to unearth those. This does, however, give us great insight into past campaigns too, and is a very quick and easy way to begin our searches.

An excellent way to find shirts that have sold well, with a niche term that you choose, is to use some search operators in Google.
Being able to qualify these winning campaigns will give you insights in to how "noisy" a niche is and allows you to see what current designs are working.

Social Sleuth is a brilliant plugin tool that allows you to be able to query Facebook on not only a posts target URL but the niche you are researching.
And once more, just for good measure, DO NOT COPY DESIGNS!
Identifying your audience is without a doubt the most important aspect to your success on Teespring. Without correctly understanding and implementing these steps, you are going to have an extremely hard time getting your campaigns sold.
Forums are an excellent resource that allow us to research active communities and their interests.
The information we gather here is entered into our spreadsheet that we will later use when we come to targeting. In addition many other useful information, such as design ideas and additional sub niches can be found in Forums.
Do not ignore the wealth of information that good, solid research can pull from these wonderful resources.

Amazon is a huge resource of products that can easily show us what our potential audience is interested in, but also names of potential interests that we can later plug into Facebook as possible targets.
In addition, many new niches and design ideas can come from a good research session on Amazon.
Leaving Amazon out of your research strategy is a huge oversight and a mistake that should avoided.
eBay is another huge resource of products that can easily show us what our potential audience is interested in, but also names of potential interests that we can later plug into Facebook as possible targets.

Before we get into the final and most crucial video in this section, going through this video and wrapping up the initial research you will need to do before continuing is important.
A short demonstration will show you how quickly you can find very important information and insights into your niches fans and followers. Adding these specific pieces of information you gather through hours of good solid research and studying your audience in great detail, will not only give you an edge in your targeting, but open up many additional sub niches and design ideas.
Facebook Audience Insights is the final place where we will be bringing our research data and seeing which of these interests are able to be targeted in Facebook.
In addition, it is a GREAT place to find additional, tightly related interests and further investigate what our competition is up to.
You should be spending a minimum of 2 hours in here exhausting every possible interest option for your campaigns target market.
Audience Intersect is an outstanding, FREE piece of software that allows us to tighten our target market, significantly.

Having a Teespring Storefront is an excellent way to be able to promote multiple campaigns within the same niche. Highly recommended when you can drive relevant niche traffic here instead of a single campaign.
