Welcome to Minimalist Marketing - a course for non-marketers who need to get sales but don't have the time or interest to spend hours a day on marketing. In this course you will learn a simple strategy and create 4 promotions that will help you grow your business while allowing you to focus on your customers.
Creating a 12 month plan now will help you reach your goals and lessen stress and overwhelm. You will learn how to focus your activity so that you are not marketing all year round. You will have promotional periods but then be focused on building relationships the rest of this year. This business model will help you grow an audience of raving fans...who will make each of your promotions a success.
My books, courses, and content are focused on 3 core values. I encourage you to not only compare my values to your own but to also think about how your own personal values can be reflected throughout your entire business.
Take what you learned from my example and identify your own core values and how they will run through not only your promotions but throughout your entire business.
If you've tried all kinds of systems and strategies in the past you may be asking yourself -"Why use this strategy," and "Will it work for me?"
In this lecture we will review the concepts that make this strategy different and you will have the chance to evaluate if it will work for you. I will also go over the best practices for using this promotion strategy. I believe you will find that not only will this work, but it is very do-able for you.
You may be wondering if investing your time and energy into this strategy is right for you and your business. In this lecture I will discuss who this course will work for and who it will not work for.
There are a few simple do's and don'ts to be aware of. Follow these guidelines and you will create promotions that your customers will actually enjoy!
I don't think there is anything more rewarding than "inviting" people to your "party" (promotion) and having everyone have a great time. You will learn how to create that win-win promotion for your own business.
If you've tried a bunch of strategies in the past with poor results you will be wondering if this strategy will work for you. Find out if you are a good match.
Here is a quick overview of the strategy you will be using. This high level view will give you the exact steps we are going to take through the remainder of the course. All the lectures that have proceeded this were in preparation for this overview. I want you to have the right mindset to get the most out of the core content.
The major components of the 12-month plan include setting up your calendar, creating 4 promotional periods, brainstorming great promotions and then putting together well thought out plans to execute each promotion. In this lecture we will talk "big picture" about these steps and then dive in deep to each step in the lectures that follow.
In this lecture you will get an overview of the entire 12 month plan and see just how simple it really is. Plus you will be able to reuse your plan in the years that follow.
In this lecture you will get a brief overview of the four main parts of the plan.
What does your business need most in the next 12 months? In this lecture you will drill down to what is most important for you to focus on to grow your business.
Now it's your turn. Take as much time as you need to identify what goal is most important for your business in the next 12 months.
Get out your calendar and we will be putting in actual dates for your promotions and blocking out times when you don't want to or can't work.
Now it's your turn to plan out the next 12 months. Get your calendar out and let's get started taking action.
To make your promotions successful, we need to narrow down who the promotions are for, how your offer will help them and what you will actually be offering.
Now it's time for you to decide exactly what you want to offer your clients in each of your promotions.
Refer to the workbook for tools on how to outline your promotions.
Use this workbook to work on the Promotion Outline Exercise and all of the exercises that follow in this course. Print out the workbook and I suggest writing in pencil so that you can make changes throughout the year.
Refer back to your workbook at least quarterly so you can see if your promotions need to be adjusted.
Define each of your holiday promotions according to these 4 components.
Define your holiday "hook" and tailor your product to meet the needs of your audience.
Go back to the workbook and begin working on your holiday hook for each promotion.
Learn the various types of offers and which ones will help you best meet your goal for the 12 months.
Identify which type of offer you will include in each of your 4 promotions. Refer to your workbook for more information.
Develop urgency in your offer to get your audience to take action right away.
What will create a sense of urgency in your audience? Refer to the workbook to continue working on your Offer Outline.
Walk through each step of the sales process to make sure you have every aspect covered.
Create systems, checklists and timelines that you can reuse for each promotion and recycle for each new 12 month period.
What technology do you need to have in place to make a promotion work.
Now it's your turn - take some time to map out your entire sales flow. Use your workbook to help you make notes on this exercise.
What materials do you need to create as part of your promotion and what do you need to consider as you create them.
You will need to plan out what marketing materials you will post and when.
Refer to your workbook and begin to outline your marketing plan. Keep in mind that you can always go back and make changes. You don't have to get it perfect today. Just get started.
Next you will map out your timeline for each of your four promotions. Take the time to create well thought out timelines as this will help you get faster and better at the next promotion you run. Set a goal of being able to create a promotion - start to finish in 10 days or less.
If you don't implement a tracking plan, you will never be able to fine tune your strategy and grow your business during these 12 months.
DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. Setting up your tracking is critical to your success. You will get better and better at hosting promotions when you take the time to learn what worked and what didn't work for you.
Now that you have a plan in place, let's review the highlights and focus on next steps.
Get your creative juices flowing with some google searches and great free resources on the web.
What is the target audience? This course is meant for coaches, consultants and info product producers who do not excel at marketing currently and who
