Since 1988, I have been working as a wardrobe stylist in Tokyo & NYC. I have work experiences for film and print industries. My career and travels in various countries let me become familiar with different types of fabrics. My aim is to spread my original designs in all areas of fashion with my IT skills that self taught computer programming since pre-Win95 era.
TESAGE by Yukiko Sato New York was born as a handcrafted purse studio in 2000. TESAGE means a purse in Japanese. The designer, Yukiko Sato has been crafting clothes and tote bags since she created a design for her baby doll. Her first TESAGE purse was made of remnant fabrics. She designed and crafted the purse at home to give her friends as a gift. The friends loved her purses, and encourage her to sell them to public.
Yukiko specialized in art & fashion at the Women of Art University (JOSHIBI) in Tokyo in Japan, and later, graduated Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. She has skills of Japanese traditional art of Kimono making and dressing.
