Welcome to my Facebook advertising and marketing course!

I am honored that you are here with me to learn everything you want to know about Facebook ads and marketing. This is a huge course and I have designed it so that you can get everything you need all in one place. The section titles will give you an idea of the lectures that are in that section. You can go directly to which ever section you want to learn about. For example, if you want local tips for running a page, go to the local section. If you want tip for making ads for free offers, sales, or low-cost likes, there are different sections that show you exactly how to do that. If you want to get general knowledge, just go through one course at a time.

You can also get a lot of value from this course by using the Add Discussion option to ask me any questions you may have. I will do my best to answer it, and will answer in a timely fashion. You can also look through the existing discussions; you may find that you already have an answer.

The first section welcomes you to the course. In the section two, I will share with you the principles that will guarantee you success on Facebook. What does this mean in terms of Facebook ads? The principle is this Make ads and marketing campaigns on Facebook that you would respond to and that you would interact with. Do things that you know will work for you as a customer. When trying to find new ideas, see what works for you, such as ads that you interact with on Facebook and marketing strategies that get your attention. Then you can in turn do that to get people to notice you. It is hard to succeed when you try and do things to people that you would not go through yourself. Do unto others as you would have do unto you is the number one principle that has helped me to be successful throughout everything I have done on Facebook.

If you are trying to make money on Facebook in 2014, the way to do it is surprisingly simple and requires no affiliate program signups, no money, and very little time to get started with. Of course, doing it right takes a lot of effort every day but at least you can get started by knowing that the strategy is built around you and already had done amazing things for me! The executive summary is that Facebook messages present the best opportunity for you to make money, get clients, expand your Facebook marketing, and grow your opportunities on Facebook. The power of Facebook messages is in building relationships and bypassing the gatekeeper. You can use Facebook messages to both pages and people to open communication. Once you start messaging, what result you get is up to you. While this is easy to get started with, figuring out who to message, what to say, and how to offer value to them is challenging. The best part is you can do it all for free with no experience and simply learn what you need to along the way! I know because I already did this and still do it successfully.

In 2011, I started my business online and had nearly zero existing opportunities to make money online. In 2012, I started learning about Facebook and through my brute force method of trying everything I could think of, got lucky enough to start using a new feature right when Facebook launched it. Facebook pages are awesome for making money on Facebook because people with pages often have money to spend. I started messaging pages on Facebook and learning skills that would be useful for them. The better my skills got, the more money I could make with every relationship I built.

You can watch the video I share with you on this page to see what I mean by sending messages on Facebook. The idea is that you want to use messages as a communication tool to build relationships you never would have enjoyed access to using any other method. This works best if you are trying to make money online and know who your audience is. You ideally should have a great Facebook profile to get started that you use every day for personal use. If you try to do this with a new fake profile, you may get banned quickly and you are unlikely to inspire the trust that makes this strategy so effective.

Getting in on conversations on Facebook has proven to be the single biggest area of social media success I've had so far.

Facebook is one of the best places to engage in conversation online. Facebook messaging and conversations in groups has been the single most effective way to grow my business for free. Sending a personal message works great because it often bypasses the gatekeeper and you can reach the owner of the page directly.

Using Facebook groups rather than Facebook pages is far more effective way to have a conversation. You are much more likely to get featured in a group than a page.

Posting a video on your personal file is another way to get good conversation. Facebook pages have low priority on the news feed, but videos on personal profiles have high priority.

In this lecture, I will go into detail showing you how these three methods work.

Here's my formula that works best in Facebook ads to get exceptional conversions.

In almost anything you want to do, this is the formula I recommend to be successful with Facebook ads for conversions, affiliate marketing and sales.
Combining a free offer with paid offer into one conversion post that then builds giant social proof that you can use to run as an ad for conversions is ideal. With affiliate marketing, you want to get people to go directly to your website and not to an affiliate website. When they're on your website, you can get them to go to other places on your website. You may not get a conversion this time, but you can still get them to follow you or get their email.

What have I seen work best for local businesses on Facebook? Page events

I recommended to a local business owner to create a Facebook page event for his grand opening, which I found to be the best way to get people to physically show up at the location. Using the events tab has many benefits, such as repeat reminders of the event and showing up on the news feed at a much higher rate. In this lecture, I will go into detail on why this works so well.

So now a few days later, you can see the ads are going well. I've got consistent low-cost engagement. I don't know that I'm promoting the best of these videos, so what I've done is I've learned a little bit about the audiences on Facebook. What I've noticed is that there's not a huge difference between most of these audiences in terms of post engagement.

Now what I want to do is set up ad sets and campaigns and if I'm running indefinitely, I want so be able to have lots of different videos to show because when I have lots of different videos to show then I can keep showing the same person different videos so over time I can get to build a relationship with one specific person. Right now I'm showing a lot of ads to new people. So I'd rather be able to show them a different video each time and then have that one ad campaign have the ability to build a relationship completely with one person. Because the first impressions are great, but ultimately I get the best value out of building a great relationship over time with individual people.

So wouldn't it be better to have all of these videos in an ad instead of just one? Yes it would, and what I've shown you up until this point will help you see how to do that. All that needs to be done is make base campaigns with all the videos and then copy it into more new ad sets, using the power editor. Then split them on targeting. Target different things. Push the limits and try and get out many more of my videos and see if there's one video or another that's much better. Then try and build a relationship with my audience over time in my ads instead of just trying to show them the same video.
